Passmark Utility for Windows

The Passmark utility suite for Windows currently includes the Burnin stress test, Performance test, OS Check and Disk Checkup. These applications can be launched from the Start >> Programs >> Passmark menu.

Burnin Test -
Burnin for windows defaults to stress testing RAM, CPU, and Network as well as HDD response and stability. You can browse to Configuration >> Test Preferences to select other tests, or change the options for the default tests. Logging is disabled for the Burnin tests by default, however this can be enabled through the Configuration >> Test Preferences >> Logging tab.

Performance Test -
The performance test suite allows you to run speed tests for all hardware installed to your server and compare them to results for other servers which have run the same tests.

To save the baseline for your server, simply run all desired tests from the "Tests" section of the program and select File >> Save as baseline. You can also export this data to a mounted drive using the File >> Export results feature.

To test your server using a baseline from another server, Browse to the Baseline >> Select Baseline and add the desired baseline. You can then run the desired tests to check your server performance against that of the selected baseline.

Disk Checkup-
The Disk checkup utility runs as a background application when logged into your server, and will provide information about the server's hard drive such as Spin-up/Spin-down speeds, temperature and SMART history/data. To view details for each drive installed to your server, simply select the drive from the "Physical Devices" menu in the program. To view the SMART history, you will first need to enable "Record SMART attributes for TEC computation" from the Configuration menu.

OS Check -
The OS check utility allows you to create a signature file, containing details of sensitive files/folders on your server and compare earlier signatures to find changes in file permissions, sizes and change dates.

To create a new signature select Config >> Browse and add the folders/drives you wish to monitor for changes, and click Add to list. Click OK to save the config, and Create Signature to begin the scan. When the scan has completed, select Save to save the signature for later use.

To compare changes on the folder/drive to an old signature, select them from the browse menu in the Config page and click Create Signature. Once the new scan has completed, select Load and browse to your old signature file. You can then select Compare Signature from the main menu.
